My words

On some level I was gone.

I was gone and I didn't know where.

I was gone, like a dream goes when u wake

u try to catch it, get the good parts, but it ain't coming back, it's gone baby.

People put words in my mouth and I feel,

No.. no I don't need this, I have words of my own.

I talk over wires still; words that have meaning, that are my own words, not borrowed

You can't steal them that way; you shouldn't have; it was not nice

Perfect Capuccino

There is a newly opened old style soda shop just by the harbor. It's by the corner of Government and Humboldt. Amazing view of the Harbor so will definitely be a hit with the tourists. However, the seating isn't very comfortable so don't go for long conversations.

The cappucino was good and they have an huge speciality ice cream selection which is a bit pricey (over $10). Will try that next time. Was just there for coffee with a friend.

Trains, Restaurants and Washrooms

This is really random you guys and probably not that interesting!

If you were to ask me what 3 things fascinated me as a child: Trains, washrooms and restaurants.

Even as a kid I was an absolute foodie. I don't know how my parents dealt with it but nothing excited me more than hearing we'd be going out for dinner. I was lucky too since both my parents worked, we went out a lot.

When I was little, I never cried at a restaurant (so says my mom) and I always ordered soup. Indian kids have a strange fascination for soup (do kids here?). When we went to england I was most excited to buy 30 pence Heinz tomato soups which I thought were the best things in the world..In India, we never ordered Tomato soup at a restaurant. Why? because you don't order things that you can make at home duh!

We ordered talumein soup (for the most part) it's chinese apparently but I've never had it here so no idea what the real thing tastes like. And then we would order Indian or Chinese main course. You would be surprised to find that mostly all indian restauranta serve some 'chinese' food like chowmein or chopsuye.

Washrooms: haha yea.. see most indian houses and public places have not so fancy washrooms but the hotels (when you are not used to swanky washrooms) seem out of this world. I was fascinated by the hand dryer and took my time drying hands annoying my dad quite a bit. I don't think I ever went to a hotel and used the washroom less than two times.

Trains: Windows seat, always. stare out even if it's night time. Long time spent at the rail museum in Delhi. Will go back this time I think and do a photo feature on it. Trains are the best. If you're gonna visit India you must take the trains. You miss a lot if you fly and buses are a pain, too crowded and smelly. Well trains are smelly too. but it's more bearable I think.

The Famous Five

Of course ..why! don't I love them!

So today working for my final.. to entertain myself I thought hey..the famous five...it should be on Youtube right? And I was of course so excited to see it.. but alas it's not half as fun as reading ...it did bring back memories though!

I think... all the things I love are in the famous five..which sets it apart from say..the american mystery novels like Agatha Christie or Hardy Boys.. I was never a big fan of those.

The Famous five had a vivid description of the english country side..nd they went for picnics, and the dog Timmy... "woof!,said Timmy"..that's how I learnt that dogs are supposed to 'woof!', also, almost all my knowledge about western food, marmalade, pie, even lemonade came from these novels. And Anne's elaborate picnic lunches! don't I wish I was there. yea you can't find them in american novels.. The Famous Five are cute <3

When I went to England, I was most excited to see old houses, the Cotswold Villages are cutest villages you will ever see with speckled with bakeries and homes of this writer and that. You want to just sit there and write poems.

I am still a kid at heart and would love to relive the famous five experience, go camp on a moor beside a farm, make picnic lunches, try to find tunnels, play around with walkie talkies ( they didn't have them but I wished they did haha) maybe we need a new edition where they can use walkie talkies..

But definitely I am more of a treasure hunter person than a hiking in the wilderness person and it's probably because of what I read.

Oh and my first crush, Anne, definitely. She loved food <3!
